Dr Sanjay Kalra and his wife Dr Rita Kalra from Sector 7, Panchkula, take care of the Sector 3 roundabout and get the best of landscaping and plant attractive flowers and plants.
"Our city is our home. We want it to be a trend among residents to take care of their locality themselves," says Kalra.
Despite their occupied professional lives, the doctor couple manage to shell out time for maintaining the roundabout. "Spending time among greenery helps us refresh after the tiring hours dealing with patients," says Rita. Kalras have bagged awards for their garden numerous times over the years. They ensure to get rare flowers and plants for their roundabout whenever they go abroad.
Sector 11, Panchkula residents Abrols maintain the sector 11-15 roundabout and have planted about 2000 species of plants, flowers and creepers their.
"People like this roundabout so much that they come here during their morning and evening walks. Apart from planting hybrid flowers, we do landscaping using pebbles and other things," says Dharmendra Abrol. His wife Monica says, "We want our city to look beautiful and clean. And it is only when we, residents of Panchkula, put in our effort will this be possible."
